do NOT buy the elephant gun

the bullets despawn after 15m, and you you cannot shoot while crouched or you fall over, there is no scopes. it one shots anything within 15m (except for legendaries) but that's its only redeemable quality. it has no scopes and only two bullets. I have no understanding of the purpose of the gun since in every possible scenario there is a better gun for the job.

Have you ever heard of... Having fun? Why does everything have to be the best, the greatest etc.? But nevermind, lets just remove 90% of guns in COD, BF etc... Or, for that matter, 90% of weapons in RDR.

I guess the game just isn't fun then, when I was a kid I thought kicking rocks around in some dirt was fun i'm assuming that's similar to what you feel when you play the game.

I wiped the grin off of a griefers face two days ago who was running around Blackwater pulling other players off of their horses. Come to think of it, I wiped the front of his head from his shoulders with the elephant gun. It was most satisfying.
Then most amusingly, he got a mission where he had to hunt me and a friend (in a posse) down and immediately logged out) so revenge is better than xmas and far less fattening.

why not just use a shotgun? six shells and at the <15m range the elephant gun has it's no different from a shotgun, shotgun has different shells so it's more utility and the average shotgun is cheaper.

so you bought an inferior psuedo-shotgun so you could shoot some guy who's lassoing people for fun? i mean ok i guess.

he was lassoing people non lethally for lols and you decided to kill him because he plays the game a different way than you do. doesn't that make you the griefer?

I was one of the people that got the random free RDO $1000, so I used that to buy the EG and customize it a bit. Did I need to buy it? No, my Carcano and Shotgun are all I need for short and long range. Did I just want to have a huge ♥♥♥♥-off gun to play around with sometimes? Yes.

The only thing I dislike about the gun is that blasting small animals like chipmunks still leaves corpses instead of black smudges where they used to be.

From what I can tell, the elephant gun is pretty terrible. Too little ammo. Terrible accuracy. In another thread, someone suggested that it was good for taking on legendary animals, but it went terribly for me when I tried.

I could see use it in PvP due to the level of damage it does, but for the most part, you want to be getting headshots anyway, in which case, it doesn't matter, and even if you're going for body shots, two shots before reloading is absolute garbage. And with only 20 bullets total, you'll run out almost as fast as you run out of explosive ammo with a normal weapon. I'm sure that some people will have fun with it in PvP, but I don't think that it's worth more than playing around with for a bit.

Given its name, I would have expected it to be for hunting, but it seems pretty terrible for that.

So, all in all, I'd agree that it's a waste of cash, and I don't know what the point of adding it to the game was, but I'm sure that plenty of people will pick it up anyway.
