This happened to me, it real sucks, first of all, reboot you PC, the game should start normally, if it doesn't, you will need to reinstall rdr2 and change his compatibility mode to WINDOWS 7. (And don't forget to update your drivers to the newest version of it)
And don't forget to disable all you firewalls and antiviruses to launch the game properly.
Good luck man
i5 3470
8GB DDR3
RX 580 4GB
Some say the fix is switching to DirectX12 but I can't because I'm using Win 8.1 tho others say that the same issue persist even in DX12 :(
Will reinstalling RDR2 fix the issue?? I've tried all fixes possible:
Turning Async to true
Turning all settings Low
Lasso Tool
BES Tool
Disable first 2 cores
Disabling Anti-Virus
Adding Launch Parameters
I can't remember all the things I've tried but I've been trying to play this game for 3 days and I can't really enjoy it because it freezes randomly mostly in cutscenes.
Go to the launch options and put this: -cpuLoadRebalancing
Like i said, it worked to me.
Good luck man
going to say the same here, as in other post. its not because it did not work for you! that this will not work for the OP.
PC's are not the same, and this may work for him. don't be such a negative nancy
Naming and shaming is not alowed. I am not a Nancy.
LOL name shaming, you really think that's name shaming, that's a saying for someone who looks negative at things all the time, djeeez.
but i guess anything is good to report someone eh! you are lucky i don't start reporting you for baiting people into a rage, reply. all posts you made after me was pure "nope does not work, false, lie's" witch is inpossible as what i "suggest" can't be wrong or right, its a suggestion, a possibility for a fix.
anyways, making to many false reports gets you in trouble also eitherway so there is that.
edit: why the profile private, you on a second acc maybe? is your main banned eh... tsk tsk
if i did not knew better i would say you have a thing for me, seems you only talk negative about my reply's to people...
Why the private profile?
Because i do not use any of the other steam services. And because i like my privacy. I never got banned and i have just this account. I play mostly solo games. I always keep all my internet profiles to a bare minimum.
I only share my data with people who I actualy know.
I will not respond to you further unless we can talk on topic and constructive.
Page file size increase is not solving the RDR2.exe appcrash because pagefilesize is not the cause of the problem most people have.
Why i cannot inform others that larger page file (mine is 32GB) does not solve it I do not understand. If page file solved it for you you did have a totally different problem on your machine.
Rockstar them selves admitted alreay that its a problem with their RDR2.exe file which causes appcrash on many systems.
If you feel baited into rage by feedback that increasing pagefile does not solve it, maybe seek other ways to calm down.
I just reported that it does not work (on my machine, which was logical that i meant my machine because i only can share my experience and knowledge about the issue in relation to pagefile sizes).
