You lose a whole lot, from what I understand basically you start again with the repeater and pistol, but you get to keep all of your gold. When I did it, I was able to get the items that you get for free in special edition again (for free again) just by going to the gun/horse stores.

I did it pretty early on though, so I'm not sure what the deal is with stuff bought with gold etc.

That doesn't make any sense. Why would you lose something that you paid for, just because you created a new character? It's not tied to ingame character, it's tied to the game.

EDIT: as far as I can see, Special edition bonuses are Story Mode exclusives.

No, ypu also get more stuff in online, especially the horse is nice to have from the start.

So are you saying that every single article/info about differences in various editions is wrong? I cannot find any info that Special edition has anything for Online mode.

Just checked and looks like I confused it with Ultimate Edition (the one I own).
Daemia Aug 10, 2020 @ 9:18am
Yea, Ultimate Edition is different, I presumed you were talking about that one and just confused them.

As for OP, gotta love the people buying XXY editions of the game, but don't even know what they bought. 10/10.

$400 and you can edit your character's appearance in-game. You don't have to delete the previous character.

My bad :steamhappy:it was Ultimate ed.

Hehe, no worries ;) In that case, you should be able to get the items back without issues.

Pretty sure all that will be in the catalog at $0, or stable for the horse. And someone up top mentioned about that horse in online. That horse is very nice to have early game. Very very nice.

Question: What happens when I delete my character in Red Dead Online?

Answer: All player information, including any spent Gold Bars or RDO$, is lost along with weapons, mounts, rank, unlocks, etc. Any unspent Gold Bars and Cash remaining in the account will be available for use by the new character.

♥♥♥♥... Now I regret the change. My Baldy was a better character for this wild west.

Can you confirm what you were able to keep when restarting?

Gold / $ / What else?

Unspent gold and money, and ultimate edition contents. But horse bonding and any lvl progression will reset
