Frame rate overlays not working

As the title says not a single overlay that shows frame rate works with this game.
What i have tried.
Msi afterburner
fraps
DXtory
it's only with this game other games my overlay works fine.
My pc: I7 8700k, GTX 1080, 32GB 3200mhz ram, windows 10

Try it while playing in windowed borderless.

That's how i started playing but i just tried windowed and fullscreen as well and all 3 don't work

Yeh, I'm still having trouble with this myself.... it works for a little while, then disappears.

Yep, there they (whoever they are) go again....

When I exit the game, I get game stats, like FPS... min, ave, best, etc

MSI Afterburner and Riva was working for me, as well as the fps on screen using steam overlay.

8700k, 16GB Ram and RTX 2080.

I'm currently reinstalling after following Rockstar support advice due to the 'alt tab freezing the game' issue. Provided dxdiags etc and just reinstalling now.

I'm 90% sure this isnt going to fix the issue and probably generate more, but, if thats what they say I gotta follow their steps.

I did a fresh install for my partner 2 days ago and she has the alt'tab flashing issue, so I hope I dont replace my problem with hers.

But yeah, prior to uninstalling, steam fps and MSI afterburner with riva was showing the fps.

I bought the game true the rockstar launcher, i now added it as a non steam game on steam and now suddenly rivatuner is working. Maybe adding it to steam fixed it, i don't know but i hope it remains fixed.

I doubt that, Ive just reinstalled the game and havent re-added it as a non steam game yet but my riva is now working.

As an update, the reinstall happened (luckily I have 250mb internet) and immediately the alt tab froze the game, I restarted then i went to settings and changed from fullscreen to borderless window and it does now allow me to alt tab. It wasnt before, even in borderless. So reinstalling does seem to have helped, but I need to have a few hr of gameplay to ensure no other bugs have arrived.
I need to Benchmark for a while as the game has automatically gave me ultra ultra everything leaving me with 57fps on an RTX2080, I have a 165hz monitor so I at least want to hit the 90's!
