Can you kill the animals that show up on Harriet missiond and skin them?
Havent tried It because I want to be rank 20 naturalist before doing that

For the free roam events, I believe either it will prevent you from shooting at them or just instantly fail the event and no one will be able to skin them.

For the missions, I believe you could tranq them and take a sample, so you can probably kill them and skin them, though killing them would fail the mission and probably instantly anger Harriet. It is possible when the mission fails it will teleport you away or make everything fade away.

You can kill and skin them. After it you can sell skin to Gus and craft com clothes to tour own. Harriet not anger everytime, sometimes she angry and kick your ass for 3-5 minutes and after you can start any mission with legendary animal again. Enjoy

Killing and skinning legendary animal WILL NOT fail mission, it just one of 2 outcomes. Also do not worry about harriet, all what she can do to you is spraying with some drug, and locking her missions for several minutes.

NOT ALL OF THEM! I read this post and went to kill the legenday Ithica panther and i failed the mission before i killed it with the message of "the animal was too damaged"

Probably you used explosives/fire and other such stuff. If you use any (non explosive) bullets, it works fine all the time.
