Buck Antler Trinket (RDO Version)
So with the Naturalist Role we can make some trinkets in Online, my question is with the Buck Antler one.

It says the player has a chance to receive better quality skins and pelts from animals in perfect condition... does that mean it will actually be better than a 3* pelt? And is it actually worth getting?

yes, or you misunderstand it.

When you miss the vital part, you still have the change that the 3 star stays a 3 star.

So when you shoot a PERFECT (3star) animal, you get the change that if your don't hit it PERFECT, you still get the PERFECT hide ;)

I hope this clarifies it for you bud.

Happy hunting and yiiihaaw ;)

i'm not 100% sure (i haven't gotten it myself to test yet) but fairly certain it means that if you miss the headshot or do something else to reduce the quality of a 3-star pelt from killing the animal, there is still a chance that it retains the 3-star quality anyways.

Hmm, I don't know, the wording doesn't suggest that, it specifically says from animals in perfect condition, so to me that means the animal needs to be 3* after you kill it, so in my mind it means you'd get a chance at a pseudo 4* pelt from the kill if that makes sense. Unless they did indeed word it wrong and what you say could be how it actually works.

I just don't want to blow nearly $800 on it without knowing exactly what it does.

Ah, and do you only find out that it stays a 3 star when you skin it then I take it?

I chuckled to myself at this one, imagining two cowpokes outside of Tumbleweed, "No Bob, what cha got there is one of those "Pseudo Four" Pronghorn pelts. See how it shimmers gold and feels kinda tingly when ya brush it this way..."
