Graphics Settings Not Saving

So since the new update i cant play because my Graphics Settings wont save and my default output adapter does not have enough memory to play the game, so everytime i change output adapter to 1 it will make me restart unlike before the update and it wont save after restart using the default one again, i tried to erase Documents\Rockstar Games folder since i saw some people saying it was a solution but it wont work for me.

The game can be played fine if you delete the xml file on launch. The issue is if you try and use Vulkan or DX12, the game will crash 100% of the time everytime.

you need to remove flag "-safemode" from launch options

Go to graphics settings, click on restore default then restore all and then back. Then set the game grahics how you want and it should save. Worked for me :). Btw if u have more monitors or tabbing it will automatically set screen type to borderless.

I've been having problems as well. I noticed in system.xml that the config source said auto. I changed that to system and it stopped overwriting my settings. I did this because I would disable vsync and it would always turn it back on.

After hours of trying I have fixed this--the trick is to save your settings and DO NOT RESTART > alt tab out of the game and make your system.xml read on WHILE the game is still open.

Then close and re-open the game and your settings will be saved. For some reason mine always reverts back to FullScreenBorderless but everything else saves

Just edit the system.xml file yourself, no real need to change "most" settings while in-game.

Yes click apply changes. Very few options will need to restart the game though. If askes to restart, click NO. If you made big changes to the graphics, apply changes, exit the game normally. Then both in Windows OS and in the game folder, delete all the GPU Cache. Then re-launch the game.

Make sure to:
Launch Steam Client via Run As Admin
Launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin
Log in and tick Remember Me + Auto
Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher, not Steam.

Put this in Steam Launch Options for RDR2.
-cpuLoadRebalancing -useAllAvailableCores -high -ignorePipelineCache
