Game freezes upon exiting window

Everything is fine while i'm playing, it's just when I leave the window to answer a Discord notification or something that when I try to go back, the game is frozen and won't work. It also won't close. Task Manager says it's "Not Responding". Everything was fine before the update, so what gives?

Don't leave the game by minimising the game to a window, exit it without 'window shopping'....

What you are doing is playing in full screen mode, then popping out the game window for a second, try not to do that and then exit the game normally, does it exit correctly????

PS: You may have been able to window shop before the update, but maybe not now, until someone sorts the problem.

Well you see, popping out would work perfectly before the update. That's my problem.

Same happening here since that last update of the Rockstar Games Launcher some 4 days ago. The game doesn't freeze, there's just an empty Social Club overlay on it. If you minimize the game while still in the main menu, you go back to it and still you hear music and the background scene still moves, but no way to control anything.

Yup it's the updates fault. Couldn't figure out a way to get my task manager onto my second monitor since it was stuck behind the game, so I had to navigate it via keyboard while using its little alt-tab preview to check my place.

Is there a setting about pause on lack of focus? Maybe screw with that setting if it's in there. I KNOW it's in GTAV. Regardless of online and no pause it would still be worth checking out, if it exists. I'm not in game atm.

The Windows key to return to the Desktop works for me, no lockups, and I can go back into the game, again, no lockups.

If you want to get your task manager up, press shift and tab at the same time, then create a second desktop. After that, move rdr2 to the second desktop. From there you can open task manager.
