Game freezing on alt-tab?

Had a pretty significant FPS drop too it would seem. Getting ~65fps at 1440p on the settings I was getting ~75 on previously and also this constant micro stuttering (gsync enabled etc etc)

Anyone else experienced this?

It freezes on alt+tab for me as well. (Bought the game via the Rockstar launcher and not Steam). No crashes, it just freezes whenever I alt+tab. Have to kill the game via Task Manager.

Must have happened recently. I've played this game on and off pretty much ever since PC-release except for the past couple of months.

Go to settings and change full-screen to window boderless

Never had any issues with ALT+TAB in this game, but have had it in other games occasionally. I probably ALT+TAB hundreds of times while playing also; mainly for checking the collector map, or to surf while in a loading screen if I change lobbies.

Have you guys checked Window's logs to see if anything comes up there when this happens to you? I'm guessing it is a software conflict/issue, because a lot of people seem to have it while a lot of others do not. So, in other words, probably a program you are all running, that I am not.

As others have said, change to borderless windowed and this issue will be solved.

Whenever you need to use alt+tab, press alt+enter first, the game will go from fullscreen to window borderless mode, then do your works, then again press alt+enter to go to fullscreen mode.

In my case, fullscreen gives decent fps, but window borderless mode drops about 10-15 fps. But the problem still remains when you press alt+tab accidentally, the game will freeze.

FWIW I get real bad graphical issues, which is memory being bled away from the game, if I spend too long Alt+Tab'ed outside the game, but I've not had it freeze. Not yet, anyway.
