So i bought a load of this ammo from the lassie who wants you to sample the animals, only problem is ive tried said ammo on cows, sheep and deer so far and it does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, anyone else having this problem or got it working properly, hope to god they have not screwed it up as we'll probably have to wait 6 months for a fix.

Dependiendo del tamaño del animal necesitarás más o menos disparos. Para dormir a un oso pardo necesité como 20 disparos...

You have to shoot them multiple times. Hitting them in Crit spots helps.

Best to just blast them with Dead eye. When you hit a sound like a pot drum being struck then you can stop shooting.

you need lots of hits to make the work, depending from the size of the animal. Maybe one two for a rabbit, maybe ten or more for a cow (and lots for a byson)

I wish the game would slow down a bit after you darted them once or thrice.

I hunted a legendary elk last night, I had to shot it like 30-50 times!
I ran after it in the middle of a snow storm with near zero visibility, getting a shot in once in a while, took over 20 minutes, super annoying.
Plus you can't use paint it black on legendary animals, so it's all free aim.

It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. You have to shoot them so much. Not sure how in the hell this even passed through testing.

It makes the game just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous having the chase down animals on a horse and just machine gunning them with worthless sedation ammunition.

I gather what it was meant to do was make it hard to race through forest areas with loads of trees after them to get them down, i can just imagine all the people smacking into trees and stuff haha.

I mean, if she wants to care for animals why does she want us to pepper tf out of them to take a sample?

Lol yeah, machine gun the crap out of them and then stick em with a big ass needle.

The smallest of creatures die to the shot, so of course there is no sedate and sample on the small creatures. One size up from the smallest, basically snakes and rabbits can actually be done in one perfect headshot, they will still start to run away but will fall down pretty quickly.

Anything larger than a snake or rabbit though is guaranteed at least two shots, and that is of course if it is specifically the headshots which are supposedly more effective for sedating.

Bet on at least four or five shots for medium size creatures and ten shots or more for some of the largest creatures.

I would change the statement from sedative ammo doesn't work to sedative ammo is extremely ineffective.
