But I agree with the mission design argument, rockstar has got to step up their methods, their mission design is quite outdated..
The first few chapters are amazingly good in terms of mission variety, but unique and fun mission design goes out the window after chapter five as it's only a long trail to a shootout.
All in all as I'm sure most people would agree this is a great and fun game with a good story, but it's nowhere near being perfect in any aspect. But it's still a great game.
Well, you just described what real life is all about for those of us who are down to earth and look for excitement in every corner but don't always find it. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a reflection of the world around us, as it's intended to be. If you're bored with this game, you're bored of life itself. What happens in the story isn't too different from daily events. It's just we don't go around shooting people or getting into fights as often as people did back in the day.
Now, if you're doing something worthwhile, your perception of the game might change. Involvement in what goes on plays a big part in how we see things. I like the story so far because it's about people connecting, working together and deciding how to deal with a difficult situation. It helps me see what my chances in life are and how I could interact better with others myself.
I feel that RDR2 is what life should be, taking away all the political bs we're going through, (including Spain, which is facing its first communist conversion crisis in decades). Back in the late 19th century, there was a lot going on, the telephone, the emergence of the motorcycle and the car, the breakthroughs in electricity, life was fun.
Now, Rockstar realizes we need some spice in our lives and deliver with a game as complete as this one. At medium settings, I'm more than happy to play it. I can't make my rig perform anywhere near as well as a 4k one, but I get decent performance and the game doesn't look too bad.
Now, over here, if only the popluation wasn't getting so old, we could enjoy ourselves a little more. Kids are still being born, but not enough and the young people are commuting to work, giving the environment less revenue to use and a hell of a lot of fuel problems with the buses which are bogged down by extra weight and consistent numbers of travellers because it's cheaper to ride by bus.
I think you have to slow your mind down for this game, get into the pace. And enjoy the visuals, a lot of work went into them.
So I do a bit of full on GTA, and then chill in RD. Perfect.
Kinda cringe but aight.
RD2 is worse by every chapter
