Without a 100% fix or update, I would not want to deal with that.
This explains why they never did a 60fps update for consoles. It would require untangling the spaghetti code that is stupidly tying cloth physics to framerate.
Seems moronic to bind the cloth sim to 30fps and ignore the future.
This is one of 'those' comments.
I care. Especially when RDR2 is a game that the entire community worships over it's "IMMERSION" and "REALISM", I'm not buying the PC version that is "superior", only to be taken out of the immersion every time a woman's dress looks worse than the PS4 version.
If it's 100% fixed, I would buy it - but fixing it via mods is ridiculous, and these companies need to show some pride in their product and appreciation for their fans by fixing these issues themselves.
Instead, they drop the game and walk away, and let some dude in their bedroom fix it for them - which is despicable.
I was not aware of this. For reference, I have 140 hours in the game. Likely about an even split between PS4 and PS5, and just guessing, I would say it was roughly 90 hours in single player and 50 hours online.
I have always had a love hate relationship with this game, and I think most of the issues I have stem from the unresponsive controls on a locked 30fps console.
This whole revelation, for me, makes sense of the lack of a 'next gen' update. If they didn't put the work in for PC then they sure as heck weren't going to make engine tweaks and adjustments to ensure a smooth 60fps experience on console.
It's just irritating because I assumed Mouse and Keys, plus high FPS would alleviate most of my issues with the game, only to find out the game has it's own odd issues on PC. Plus you gotta deal with R* launcher on PC, and the single player is never truly offline... which sucks.
T2 and R* are pretty meh. I just hope GTA VI delivers.
But we won't see that on PC for a good year or two after launch because 'business tactics', so I guess I'll be playing that at 30fps on PS5...
Not at all bro.
The never released an update. And this must be part of the reason.
A multi billion dollar company can't afford to have 3 people spend 2 weeks updating code so it runs properly at 60fps and above.
RDR2 got a 60fps patch a few years ago.

You're tripping bro. It does NOT have a 60fps patch. I guarantee you.
If you take all your news from IGN then you're gonna always be misinformed. Do a rudimentary google search.
edit: You gotta learn to read, because that is for Red Dead Redemption ONE Remaster.
It seems you can get much smoother FPS on PS5 for games like RDR2 by turning off HDR and enable Performance Mode.
Saved Data & Game/App Settings >>> Game Presets
Once these changes are applied, select to Restart the console. Then launch said game.
Yea, a smooth 30fps - because RDR2 is not 60fps on Console, and it's likely because it would have taken more than 20 minutes work and Take 2 doesn't care about consumers.
RDR2 runs and looks much better on XBOX series X; except maybe on a $2000+ PC
