Yeah, I find myself in this same boat. @_@
I was actually talking to my buddies about this yesterday. The biggiest reason they left is because they felt the game was too grindy. They're all huge GTA Online fans, and by comparison, it just took way too long to grind for better weapons, upgrades, and new clothes in Red Dead Online.
They were also annoyed that new updates like "Roles" (Trader, Collector, Bounty Hunter) were locked behind a pay wall.
The disruptive hackers, constant bugs, and removal of text chat didn't help things either. :(
But it was the painful grind that made them stop playing all together.
It just seems to me Rockstar is completely regressive. Voice chat is toxic and filled with racial slurs etc. At least you can censor or ignore people in chat. The bugs are insane now, sometimes as a trader i cant pick up skins as they just vanish. Bounty hunter rewards dont appear half the time or you get trolled by being blown up while trying to finish the mission. And all this complaining gets us what? "Bounty hunter week".
Fix the issues or i will no longer be able to support Rockstar. GTAO wasnt this bad, why is RDO?
I have, they ignore it. Sent it issues months ago when i took the break and the problems still exist. Call it what you will but i've gotten messages from others who have quit for the same reason.
So i make a post on steam which is read by a vast majority of players and you call it a rant yet in the same paragraph state "someone needs to lead a charge to get public attention until they speak up and do something". You cant have it both ways.
Right now it is. I have to constantly change sessions so I am not blown up on the finish line of a quest. Last night my self and the entire session (20 something people) were teleported to the top of a mountain and rolled down hill to our deaths for the enjoyment of said hacker.
And also agree the more worrying thing is pressing sell at the moonshine shack.
But Torva, hold out, I left my game running on the infinite loading screen from Moonshine shack and I ♥♥♥♥ you not, 17minutes later, it loaded in... I was sat reading facebook on my phone n thought 'wtf i thought i alt f4'd that'
It would have been quicker to restart i know, but yeah, it does get there eventually.
Today alone I was hit twice in two different sessions by people blowing me up during missions. They stopped chat as people were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about hackers constantly so now they only have voice communications. Again just came back from a break and I have to say nothing has changed.
They want our money but wont deal with the issues at hand.
Even if its only 1-2 people (which i doubt), then it should be relatively easy to look into the logs and see who is doing what and correlates with what. Yet this issue is still persisting.
In a game where im paying REAL cash for items i shouldnt have to worry about a hacker ruining my gameplay experience.
About text chat you can chat with other players with lobby list and send message on social :)
Why not just leave it the way it was with chat in each session? Why make us jump through hoops?
I just stopped posting about it because no matter how many times it is an issue for me, other posters don't seem to share the same experience and they only see a hacker once or twice a year, rather than 2 to 6 times a week (sometimes a lot more) for me. Doesn't do any good to pitch a fuss about it when you have others who say things are fine. As long as players think that things are fine, Rockstar will always chop it up to people like me over exaggerating. So the only way I can take a stance is simply not to play...and if I am not playing, I am not buying.
Good luck, Rockstar won't even acknowledge the issue, so chances are by time enough players quit and gets their attention, it will be too late because there won't be enough revenue coming in to keep the game going at which point they will just pull the plug.
When Rockstar implemented a patch that prevents players from having a private lobby that only you and your fiends could play on, they forced everyone on to the servers that are at risk of hacker/griefer infestations...which in turn is the sole reason that myself and everyone I hung out with stopped playing.
It is a shame because i love the game but it seems rockstar could careless as long as a few people are still buying gold. They are happy with a "good" game instead of a great experience.
I made complaints and then came back several months later and nothing had changed for the better.
But this is basically where we are at now. I am the last of my buddies playing it. And i notice i run into the same players alot in the game like the player base has shrunk considerably.
Instead of making the content less grindy and more fun like GTAO they almost force you to buy premium. Im not ok with that, especially when they ignore serious problems.
