Man... why has RockStar abandoned this game?!

Last content release was like 7-8 months ago! This game has so much potential! I own the game on PS4 and I have way too much gold and money now and nothing to spend it on. They messed up bad because now you have a lot of people who have lots of money who are not going to spend real money if they release new stuff so there is not really gonna be any profit for them if they release new content unless they either make it that you have to pay real money for them or they somehow take all the gold people have horded from them somehow. RockStar has messed up bad.

Half a year isn't that long. Expecting updates every month or two is exactly what's wrong with the game industry and gamers. I'd much prefer a slower, more consistent schedule where content isn't rushed out the door by crunching developers to death.

I'm honestly totally fine with a smaller scope, especially considering the incredible story mode they've managed to put out already. The people working at Rockstar deserve a little slack after crunching for 7 years straight.

People should stop asking for non-stop content like spoiled children with the attention span of a fish. Cut those poor devs some slack. They're still debugging and cycling through events, so it's not like they're not doing anything to begin with. The fact that games like RDR2 even work to begin with is a miracle in itself.

You clearly miss the point. It's not about major updates/content updates, it's about R* listening to their community and adapting their development on that. Even little updates that fix bugs and weird other stuff would be enough for most people. The problem is that R* is silent about everything if it comes to online.

We are at the mercy of the developers everything there is to enjoy about a game gets censored by Take Two. every last minute of customization makes this game worth it. if they would add more styles and hair to the content. advertise the updates show they give a damn. and maybe add land plots to purchase. they would stand more of a chance of selling this game. cut throat deals will kill the game. its the summer time right now and this game should have a certain percentage knocked off the price from time to time. add more land to the game unrestricted access to areas south of the map. more locations for players to mingle. high stakes poker games instead of the 25 buy in. bring back content that is historically accurate... Power to the Players...

♥♥♥♥ they could even add instruments into the damn game... they already have pianos harps harmonicas violins sax and trumpets. have the notes register from 1 - 0 octave controls. piano controls would have to be letters of the alphabet and numbers

In order for a game like this to receive continual support and updates Rockstar either needs to charge for micro transactions, start a monthly subscription, or come up with another way to continuously monetize the game. The staff’s gotta get paid somehow.

You know, I would gladly pay an upfront subscription if it means the devs would focus on making the game and progression actually, you know, fun, instead of turning the game into a grindfest and paywall stuff. A $10-15 subscription a month would be okay, that's what most MMOs charge, it's the price of a couple of pizzas, it won't break the bank and we could finally have some real fun instead of grinding endlessly.

Yes and so many people stopping to play because dont want pay and the game die. Good solution.

Aion online had this facial customization that was like no other. it was amazing to see and it was fun. but it took forever to download the game.

more custom face options would be perfect for rdr2 though not needed... because its a kill hunt be killed grind game... who pays attention to detail...

i would be happy being able to buy an own ranch (house, or whatever) like they officially announced (ofc without nailing down a date).

new roles, more missions, invite-only sessions.

and ofc in the wild west there were brothels very common, so they could add a kinda "dance - saloon" or a role as brothels owner with rivals.

rockstar made the mistake of allowing us to get gold for free so any new content they release players wont be dropping real $ on to get it day 1, meanwhile sharkcards are still selling like hotcakes so GTA is getting updates on schedule

If this is actually true we live in a very sad world. I know GTA is a lot more popular but i'm not going back to flying cars/motorcycles and get griefed 24/7. That game is dead to me.

Finally found a fun online game and it's grindfest 5000 with no real thought through content. Has Rockstar lost it's touch or something?

I mean i'm still enjoying it because i've just recently bought the game, but it's a grind. Should be fun if you had some kind of dungeons or instances where you can get special drops or something. Ofcourse that's a grind too but at least we can get something rare/new in the game.

EDIT: I also thought GTA V Online was a screw up. The only thing they add is things you can spend money on, have fun for 2 hours and that's it. Please don't let RDR2 online have the same fate ...

Take 2 has been steadily destroying Rockstar and the money made from GTA online has a lot to do with it as well. Sadly they have zero interest in developing quality single player content now and just want to make online grindy gameplay that encourages you to spend real money. I would love to have the GTA online content in single player and I would gladly pay money for it, but I have no interest in playing online. I've tried and sadly people ruin it. I remember the days when online games were fun. I am old so I am talking about Quake. Anyway, I am off to shout at the kids to get off my damn lawn

Well.. I'm happy with the discount as I don't own them yet. Returning discounts are good imho. Giving later "generations" of players a simolar opportunity to get a discount.

Concerning the lack of updates: We'll have to wait and see. Spreading the message about the lust for content is good. Hopefully something will come of it!

they announced in november or december, not quite sure, that we are able to buy "houses" (farms or whatsever) - i think this "letter" from rockstar is on the official homepage.

I mean, understand, spreading this possible content all old players are waiting for, and then all u get is the 20th (!!!) discount on hats for example?

ok, i played it hardcore, have 650h in the game (including singleplayer), and have now around 850 gold - i dont know what to buy anymore....

with 850 gold you will buy every role for next 5 years, and that is a problem .... for them , so i think they will drag this delay for another 4 months at least so we just accept what they will will come up to make some profit..... like here is 50 new roles in addiction every step your horse gives will cost 10 gold and 30 min of a hard dic... in your ass..
