You don't have a problem drawing your weapon when under a cougar attack?
If a player shoots his own horse so be it, he deserves to ride in shame to the nearest stables on an old nag, but ruining a hunt or a mission or simply not allowing a player to defend himself is idiotic, whoever thought it was a good idea to put that in the game needs shooting.
And it even triggers with other horses, including wild ones.
The behavior near your horse changes key controls - and access to menus is sometimes restricted.
The worst example of this is when the game decides what my weapon load out is going to be - swapping my pistols, and rifles, etc.
Never mind when my horse decides riding in a straight line is no longer the right thing to do, and turns around a couple times during a chase scene.
