Tried everything possible. Also contacted R* support and they said that they will fix it Asap. I think it has something to do with Taa.
well i guess they'll probably release the patch this tuesday, rockstar releases patches once a month, and usually on the second/third tuesday, i hope you'll fix the problem have a good day

That's just an aliasing artifact, it's very common and not a bug. If you're using taa, lower the sharpening until the shimmering doesn't happen or bother you as much.

Turn on Temporal Anti Aliasing, preferably to High. It may cause some blurring while moving, but it fixes almost all aliasing at fairly low performance cost. Especially at 1080p and beyond.

Alternatively, play at a higher resolution or use resolution scaling. I personally prefer TAA because of its low performance cost and decent quality. Either way, you'll always get some form of aliasing if you're not using an aggressive AA method like MSAA or TAA High.

That much flickering is very irritating and it happens on high too. But This does not happen on the
console version.

It shouldn't happen with TAA on High, especially with FXAA also enabled. Volumetric lighting quality can also make this issue worse if it's set too low because any scattered light gets dithered.

If all of this keeps happening even with TAA High, FXAA and Volumetrics on Medium, then there's definitely something else wrong.

I know this is an old thread. Make sure you have UNLOCKED VOLUMETRIC RAYMARCH RESOLUTION: On

I turned this setting off and was having the same flickering in the trees. Hope this helps someone.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
