John or Arthur which Character did you liked more?

Arthur. I felt more alive playing as Arthur tbh. John is cool n' all but I also rather play Arthur's part of the story.

Arthur was a much more complex character in his arc and by far one of my favorite characters of all time (especially his high honor version) BUT, since John had the original game, he receives a much more fleshed out origin story which adds heaps to his existing one which, to me, makes him better in the end.

I played Red Dead 1 , and so I really like John Marston , and kinda cool this is a prequal

They both are great characters.

Ofcourse you get to "know" Arthur better in the game and you will have this "journey" into redemption with him.

But when you pay close attention, John has a great roles in this too and the dynamics between John and Arthur is great too.

Eventually it comes down, that John becomes the John "we" know because of Arthur.

Also, when you get the time (lol) pay attention to all the characters: they all have their own story to tell and have great insights in the overall story and lives of all the people you get to know.

The story is based around Arthur, Arthur"s dialogue is more developed, communication with different types of people is better, you learn how to do things with Arthur. As the protagonist ,you get into Arthur's head, in regards as to what made him who he is and why he has serious regrets. Then ,I felt relieved I didn't have to suffer with him anymore and go about the business taking care of the challenges of the game with John.

For me, you cant ask if John or Arthur if you have not played the first red dead (not red dead revolver) but I could be wrong since I just started Red Dead 2

I like Arthur's dry sarcasm and wit, but in the picture of the story, he's actually rather redundant. Plus RDR1 is one of my favourite games of all time. So John I guess.

They are both as good as each other, depending on how you play the game. You can live a bad life, or do the right thing playing honorably. For me, both are just as good characters. In real life, I'm just glad I didn't live in those days...horrible to have to make tough decisions, life and death. Both characters had very hard choices to make in the game.
