my horse died in a mission!

I was doing a mission in chapter 6 that required me to get in a train and go off with other people. My horse automatically followed and ran into the train and now the misssion is over my horse is dead. Do i have to reload or what?

Is this the one where you escort the two lovebirds? I lost my horse there too, the same I had had since the beginning. It was a tough pill to swallow, but such is life in the Old West.

I almost killed my horse on that mission too.Luckily by the time the train had arrived at the station she was alive with very low health.I am glad I had a Turkoman because I don't think any other breed would have been able to tank some train hits. My suggestion is just load the last checkpoint and try again going slowly. If this doesn't work just don't do the mission since it is a side mission.

Yeah i reloaded the mission and it was fine after that thanks. I tried to tell the horse to stay but kept falling off the train lol!

I know this is years later, but if anyone wants to know I found my horse dead after this mission, quit the game, loaded in again and it was alive so its worth a try if someone else has this issue.
