Constant storm glitch

One of our posse had a rain storm the whole time he played. The rest of us had just thunder and lightning. If you traveled far enough away from him the lightning would cease. When he logged out and back in seemed to fix it. You can check it out on you tube. https://youtu.be/e2xX9TCYDoY

yep the cheaters can also change the time of day and that really messes up some of the collecting (as some u can only find at night) as well as shiner runs (i got no proof but i think the revenue guys let u pass more often douring the day)

To quickly change sessions without an infinite load screen simply go into online options and click on change characters appearance. DONT ACTUALLY change anything just quit right out and you wont be charged. It will however toss u right away into a new lobby.

Thanks for the info. Although I didn't rule out that hackery could be at play, because it was focused around one individual made me think it could be bug from the latest update.

i literally just got on twice today for a minute to get a daily and then to check it, both FREE AIM sessions were perma lightning storms. I hope its a bug or something rockstar did but i doubt it.

It's mod menus... they force it on their or other's end/client and because it's peer2peer, it spreads like a virus or at least applies it to everyone else.

since you can explain things in a good way:

Does this means, that when you enter a lobby with such a cheater in it, it affects your side of the "peer" too?
And do you take it along when changing lobbies or so?
Is there anything to worry about then? Or is it just annoying and will be gone hen you log out entirely?

We have seen the same thing. We figured it was some hacker's doing and felt like if that was all the hacker was doing that we could live with it.

i just wish that they would make it rain along with the lightning, its always a storm off in the distance, today i got on the fastest horse in the game and could not "catch" the storm. (TBH i wanna get hit by lightning at least ONCE, after 1500 hours of play it is obviously VERY rare.)

My point is i think it may be more of a skybox (if im using the term correct) than an actual "game created" storm than can cause rain and lightning hits on players. I would think if it could kill people the cheaters would put a storm over valentine and watch the fun, but thats not the case...

Modders/cheaters in your current lobby cannot affect you if you either 1)change lobbies or 2)quit game and rejoin new session

I have no idea how it works online, but in story mode there is a place where you can get a metal helmet and when ever you wear that in thunderstorms it is almost 99% certain you will get hit by lightning.
(tried to say that without spoiling things in case of...)

Not like a literal (computer)virus. It was just an analogy to make it easier to understand. I guess it achieved the opposite for some reason. Sorry :P

hehe, well it sounded odd to me too, but then again: I am not up to date with what some people are capable of....so it just might have been the case hehe.

and the fact that every time I log in, my session starts with thunderstorms, some loud, some average.....only the sound and sometime lightning, but never rain....
