Bountiful Achievement

I've been trying to get this achievement for so long, I slept for 3 days, nothing. I stayed in the ranch for three days, nothing. Can anyone help?

Are you sure you have >250$ bounty in each state?

You should see a counter going up (the actual achievement, day by day). If not, you are doing something wrong. Im guessing either you don't have a bounty of 250 or more in every state, or the game doesn't count it if you stay at your ranch.

I should probably get a bounty of 250 or more in each state, then just survive instead of waiting in the ranch.

I'm trying to do this now, I have a bounty of nearly 300 in all states and the counter doesn't go up. I've been doing this for 5 days. I went back to my camp to try and wait it out/sleep more, still no counter, what gives?

There are five states in RDR2:

- Lemoyne (do this last)
- New Hanover
- Ambarino
- West Elizabeth
- New Austin (during the story you automatically have $250 bounty here by default due to events in Blackwater mentioned in the prologue and chapter one)

To get a bounty, head into a town and cause chaos by shooting people and animals. It doesn't matter if you die when you are obtaining a bounty, the time only matters when you have all 5 bounties active.

Ambarino can be a bit tricky as there is not a major town so kill someone on your way there, mount them to your horse and then when you see another civilian, they will alert the authorities.

OR stand near the train tracks heading east to west and stop the train in Ambarino. Eventually the sheriff's will get alerted and take out as many as you can to get your bounty up.
There are several comments below for Ambarino alternatives as it can be quite tricky.

The last one is Lemoyne and I recommend going to Rhodes for this. Rhodes has a mill at the north-western part of town. Head there and to the room inside, going up the ramp. Use the sawn-off shotgun on the authorities that enter from the ramp or climbing up the ledge to the left. Once you have at least $250, let them kill you.

Once you respawn, head to the saloon and rent the room. Sleep 18 hours twice (max allowed) and then go upstairs and play blackjack for about 5 minutes. Head back downstairs and rent the room again, sleep for 18 hours and it should unlock. If not, sleep again.

You can not be attacked by bounty hunters whilst playing a mini-game, and they never started a pursuit whilst I was in the saloon.

Yes, my bounty is above 250 in all of them, the steam achievement counter is still at 0, I'm on day 5.

Even though you say to end in Lemoyne, I ended up doing just fine starting in Lemoyne lol. Had a $800 bounty there too. It was not too bad camping out in New Austin and kinda just roaming around when I saw bounty hunters. I would just sit on top of those mountains and be safe from view and no bounty hunters really threatened me.
