“This will continue at a later time”
There's this Stranger Mission called 'Idealism and Pragmatism for Beginners'' but it keeps saying it'll continue at a later time. I've tried going back to sleep, kept myself busy with other activities (as John) multiple times just to see if it'd pop up on the map after a few hours.

And still no luck. Was I supposed to play this as Arthur?

Progress story mission and it should show up in later chapters.

You do know it only shows up late at night ?

I've already done all the story missions, there's only 3 Stranger Missions left for me to do but all of them keeps saying ''This will continue at a later time''

I've been at Saint Denis, late at night multiple times.

There are many funny missions that continue in the next levels like level 2 then level 3 and level 4.
They will show up on the map.
Yes the Fishing one the brothers one St Denis an the mayor one.
Here's all of them, still some missing like find the circus animals. Or save a son. I found lots of odd things to help out peoples I meet on my travels that are not listed here.

I'll say this again since yall ain't reading what I said.

I only have 1 Stranger Missions left, meaning I've already finished all the Stranger Missions except for ''Idealism and Pragmatism for Beginners'' because it got reset after I got switched to John Marston and beat the game + epilogue [91.3%]

It won't show up at its supposed location if I come back at night and no invitation has been sent.

Look, I know these facts, you need to receive a letter to do the first part, the mission will only show up at night, no matter if for John or Arthur.

Second part, same drill, get the invitation and got at night.

Third part, same thing, just not sure if you also need the letter.

If all else fails, there is probably a bug. I'm sorry I can't help you further.

Probably is a bug. I can't finish the missions where you look for old "retired" gunslingers. There's Black Belle (I was able to finish that one) but then I went to a pig farm some old guy owned as he bragged about his supposed exploits as I cleaned up pig crap. It gets to the part where you throw the dynamite in the manure pile, but freezes and crashes when it explodes. I gave up on it months ago. Maybe when I upgrade my system it'll work (even though my system far surpasses the system requirements)

Yeah, what a shame.

Thanks anyways.

I don't think you can continue the Idealism-sidequests with John because the mayor from Arthurs time is no longer the mayor in Johns time.

I would try this, go to the youtube gaming channel, look up ( Idealism and Pragmatism for Beginners with John Marston ) and see where you are at or what you didn't notice yet. At least try to go to the Mayor's house at night and try to make contact with one of his underlings, try all the doors, maybe, try to talk to the mayor himself., to find the trigger. Also try a bounty or two in St. Denis.

^ this.. and you can. I completed quite a few quests as John.
Maybe it depends on what ending you chose.
I didnt go back for the gold .
I helped John and Maggie escape as Aurthur first then fought Mica and was not shot by Micah. Instead I simply died looking at the sunset.
Arthur gave John his sachel which has the items from quests he hadnt finished like the Exotics and legendary fish plus lots more.. since the BlackWater area was out of bounds until the epilogue. It just makes sense.
QUOTE
After beating RDR2's single-player campaign, the so-called "post game " can extend well beyond the conclusion of Epilogue II, with Red Dead 2's endgame giving you the option to go back and complete (almost) all of the Quests and Side Quests, as well as Collectible sets that you may have skipped or left incomplete before the end of Chapter 6. There are also new things to do, like added Points of Interest, more Dinosaur Bones, a Treasure Map to solve, more Legendary Animals and Legendary Fish, and, best of all, a vast new area to explore on the map.

That's exactly what I did multiple times as mentioned above.

Hi Cooper, I'm sure you have noticed with all games the devs want you to follow a certain pattern and when you get ahead of the game or don't perform some function when they want you to ,it causes the game to not trigger the next response, I imagine you could call it a glitch or a coding problem through no fault of your own. Let me relate a similar problem, I had the same problem with the Exotics quest , the guy wouldn't show up in his shop, after John filled out his list and I went there at the proper times . I re-validated Steam files many times ,still nothing, then I did a bounty and other stuff like you you mentioned, then, after several days , 4 or 5 days in real time, the (?) popped up, I still don't know what triggered it. So keep the faith ! Jaunitta has some good ideas ,too ! Follow them down as well, something will cause it to trigger.
