Game save didn't carry over to new PC
RDR2 recently motivated me to finally build a high end PC and so I did. But my story progress didn't carry over through steam cloud. The option to enable steam cloud for this game isn't there and neither is it there on the rockstar launcher. The only place I was able to enable a cloud save was the in game social club but that did nothing. Any way for me to get a story progress to the new pc?

Rightclick RDR2 properties>updates>cloud remote, check if its ticked.
Once a game is installed all the saves should be there,
as I dont use cloud remote
I cant check but here's all your games cloud remote saves.

Do you still have the previous HDD in the old tower.
If you have access to it you could copy over the steam folder.
The saves for RDR2 zre in the form of bak files>C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\9BBCC69F

I was on a laptop so I can't transfer the harddrive over. The steam cloud option isn't there for rdr2 on steam. Only on social club in game.

I just encountered this issue so in case someone finds this I found a solution that helped me, which is to transfer the save files manually.

To find your save files for RDR2 open File Explorer on the PC that you wish to transfer them from and go into %UserProfile%\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\<your profile name>

(mine was [C#CC#C#C] with C representing letters and # numbers)

If you open this folder the save files are titled "SRDR30001" through "SRDR30015", where 30015 is the auto-save file, and the others are your manual saves, in the order they were created. There's also a backup copy of each (same title but with the suffix .bak.) Copy this folder and send it to your other PC (I used Google Drive). Then on the other PC go to the same RDR2 [Profiles] folder and then either delete the existing folder or move it (in case you need those saves) and then in its place paste the folder that you just transferred and you should be done.

Be aware that if you delete the existing folder you will lose all your saves in that folder . In case you wish to have some of the original save files remain alongside the newly imported ones it might be possible to replace the "SRDR300##" files individually, although I haven't had the need to try this. If you don't want to go through the trouble of trying this you can always have the original folder stored somewhere else on the PC and then switch the two around whenever you want/need to.

Hope this was clear enough and that it helps.

You don't use Steam Cloud for Rockstar Games.
Use the Cloud Sync via the Rockstar Launcher.
