2nd run: good gurl Jamie (she looks like James but she's a, well, a she)
I named my Rose Grey Bay Arabian: Marengo, after Napoleon's Rose Grey Bay Arabian he won through spoils at the Battle of Abukir during the Egyptian Campaign. It's the horse he is famously seen rearing in the painting "Napoleon Crossing the Alps." He survived the Russian Campaign's harsh winter and was captured by the British in the Battle of Waterloo.
I named my Gold Turkoman: El Dorado, Spanish for "The Golden One," which lent its name to the fabled city. No explanation needed really.
I named my Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter: L'argent Éloi, meaning "The Silver Eligius." Silver being his coat color and St. Eligius is the patron saint of metal workers and jewelers. My John is a bit of a Francophile (like many well to do gentlemen from the 19th century), due to Jack's bibliophilia.
And yes, I RP and nerd out too much over these trivial matters.
