Fastest weapons for headshots (single player)?
I got to chapter 5 and got dual semi-automatic pistols after using Schofield and Sawed off for most of the game. Playing with mouse & keyboard, this basically trivializes everything since I no longer have to deal with the lengthy reloads or firing mechanisms of my other guns. Other guns exist only for pelt hunting, or the desire for a scope when enemies are farther away.

Just wondering if these are actually the very best guns available for rapid headshots, or have I overlooked something? Are any of the legendary gunslinger weapons better? Any rifle/repeater that fires similarly fast?

Is lancaster not enough for ya?

Or the Evans repeater is pretty good since it has a high ammo capacity

I'll tell you my favorite setup, maybe it'll work for you. I use two sets of pistols, each for different reasons/scenarios. I love using Volcano pistols when in a wide open area (those pistols are like miniature rifles with extended barrels) but somewhat close-range combat; of course pistols/shotguns should always be used for close-range firefights but medium range is ok with Volcanic Pistols, IMO. Also in close-range combat I use a pump shotgun or repeating shotgun in buildings along with a set of Mauser Pistols, which are the best for lighting up enemies at close range and should not be wildly fired at medium/long range scenarios, accuracy is terrible beyond close range with the Mauser as well as weapon damage. My favorite repeater to use is the Litchfield (it's just a beautiful firearm all around, nuff said) and my two favorite rifles to use are the Bolt Action for medium/long range scenarios and the Rare Rolling Block Rifle for long range specifically. I never use double-barreled shotguns because realistically they're not reliable if you're in an ambush (as I said, shotguns for me are only used when I know I'll be inside a building at forced close quarters.) I also find LeMat revolvers reliable, they have excellent power.

I should also state that my tactics for survival in the game differ from yours, being that I do not prioritize headshots moreso than I do with hitting the target in its killzone (center mass). I refuse to use DeadEye in storymode if I have the choice to use it or not increases the realism for me, if I get shot up, I get shot up whether DeadEye would save me or not. Trust me, playing this way will make you play like a pro with time.

There u have all weapons stats.

https://reddead.fandom.com/wiki/Weapons_in_Redemption_2

Or u can use that too.

Anyway, fastest weapon in RDR2 is the semi-auto pistol. I wear a custom one and Midnight's in Story missions. It's like firing a submachinegun. If u are a revolver fan, then the double action revolver is what u want (apart from Micah´s).

Fastest sniper rifle: Carcano. And semi-auto shotgun for those break and enter we love. And if u are looking for a rifle, then a scoped Lancaster will make u happy.

Apart from firing rate, I use the semi-auto pistol and the sawed-off for exploration and always wear my Rolling Block in the shoulder when i go hunting. Varmint rifle is a must too (for those bloody rabbits). No need of bow using, except for stealth missions and fishing (yes, try to fish with it).

Hope it helps :DarkKnight:
