[BUG?] Jim Milton and the last ranch man. Impossible to fight him.

Hello,
I've to take out the last ranchman in a barn with Jim Milton.

In the video I see Jim can fight the guy, but I cannot do that in my game. I can only press "R" to block his attacks, but I cannot attack, no idea why.

I tried to reload and restart from the checkpoint, but that didn't work.

Any idea?

Hey I'm currently having this same bug, can't punch can't shoot, I've even restarted my game and did the mission from the beginning.

anyone knows a fix please come to the rescue.

Had a same problem, I could only puch him with F key.

Yeah, had the same issue, but had to turn the "Hold" on in controls way down at the bottom and it worked. Dunno why it's near impossible to beat him even though I can smash buttons/keys like to tomorrow.

Tried adjusting the hold (I think its hold to tap?) in KB controls way to the left AND to the right, doesn't make a diff for me. I've won other fights in RDR2, but cant beat laramie in the barn fight. he WONT go down for me when I hit him. Not once. I think this must be a bug of some sort.

Tried this MIlton vs Laramie in the barn fight several more times today. Tried adjusting tap/hold slider in control settings several different ways...I canNOT beat him with my punches in the barn (even though I took out the other two guys back at MY ranch before heading to the battle and shooting the ranch hands before heading back into the barn). Tried every combo of blocks and punches, but this last ranch hand is unbeatable for me. REstarted game, etc etc. Get to this guy and CAN'T beat him no matter what.
I hate to have gotten this far into the game...into the epilogue and 70% of the game complete...and not be able to continue. This HAS to be a bug of some sort.
My health/stamina is pretty good coming into this last fight, too.
WHat the living hell is going on?
Using KB/M only.
The vid walkthroughs make it seem only a couple of punches need be thrown. Definitely NOT the case.

do you have a mod or a trainer installed?
i had it with an honest day work mission a bit later on. it just wouldnt progress.
all i had was the trainer but after deleting that the mission would progress.
epilogue is buggy AF.

I used a trainer at one point, but earlier on (when I was at 50% completion), to get through a couple of impossible mass-gunfights. But not during this part. No mods whatsoever. Just started my game and played it and no trainer activated. Tried again this morning...same issue.

Thanks to a kind person who posted this in the Steam GUIDES portion for RDR2, here's how to get past any bugs or unbeatable checkpoints. I was able to skip this unwinnable and buggy fight!
<<<Press "ESC" or Left Mouse Button and hold to skip cutscenes.
During gameplay press "L". Your mission will be at the top of the list, press Enter. Hold "SPACEBAR" to abandon.
Hold "ENTER" to retry checkpoint, do this twice and on the third time you will be able to press and hold Right "SHIFT" to skip 1 checkpoint.
Sometimes checkpoints are short, so there is no need to do this. But you have to know in advance.
You can also fail missions through other means, like killing your character with dynamite, alerting law, getting too far away from target, or doing one of many other things Rockstar doesn't want you to do during their railroaded missions. However, the method I describe here works for any situation, even when you can't move and/or kill your character.>>>

if anyone still having this issue and can't hit back and can only block, usually you use the left mouse button to hit for some reason in this fight it bacame to "F" i found it by accident and it worked out for me ..... hopefully this will be helpful for someone
