Is there a way to commit crimes without losing honor?

Story mode wear a mask/bandana when you commit a crime. Online afterwards feed/groom your horse will raise your honor.

Mask or not, the eye of honor sees all. Try to commit crimes in a more honorable manner. i.e. rob without killing by using the lasso and avoid looting victims of other calamities. Most of the honor stuff occurs in mission through choices though.

Bandanna/Mask is not a sure way. Sheriff/Police will always recognize you if you are seen by them at anytime while Wanted is in play. For civilians, changing clothes (put together many outfits) often is what can help most.

Getting out of the red zone before any police sees you of course is a must for the most part. Try not to shoot while wanted as it changes the focus to where the shot came from and such.

In RDR1 so long as you wear your bandana you lose no honour. It’s because people don’t know who you are and can’t see you do a dishonourable act if they don’t know it’s you.

just use a trainer to load the honor back, also use it to turn off the wanted system altogether. This game is sooo much better and even more realistic without it

Literally just go fishing and let the fish you catch go, its insane how much honor you get.

Not only that but lets say your honor is in the red by Chapter 4.
By the end of the story you can easily max it back out again.

If you are going to play it as a "I want to mess around more in open world and go REALLY slow through the Story" then I highly suggest playing with some mods that modifies how the Wanted/Law/Bounty stuff all works. I don't think you should turn it completely off though. That would be like GTA without any Police; which would be kinda dumb.

You can get a mod also allows that if you put on correctly before doing most crimes, you won't get negative honor as a result.
