Horse Bonding Reset Bug

This bug seems to have persisted since 2018 and it seems Rockstar doesn't care to fix it. Surprise surprise.

After about an hour of searching this, playing, dismissing my horse, stabling it, switching it out, and losing all my hours of progress from yesterday, I think I found the solution.

After you get your first horse (not the nag), it seems that bonding keeps fine. When you buy your second horse is when you lose data. The solution to keeping all your bonding is to swap active horses at a stable before logging out or even fast travelling on the map.

I had to swap saddles between horses as I only have one, so I am not sure if it is the saddle swapping or the horse swapping that causes the game to save the data.

Has anyone else found a work around to what seems to be a feature, not a bug?

Just had this happen. I forgot to set my second horse as active and when i logged on today it said bonding level 1 achieved... so i rode back to the stable found out how to set it active and it says bonding level 1 achieved... again. It was leveled up a few levels at least. What a broken feature.

I am literally having this issue and it's only been happening to the "4th" horse I've bought. I'm gonna try that swap horse tip and see what happens. Like I could be cleaning my horse, get bonding up, and it never actually getting clean, unless it's raining. And it's most certainly a bug. Not a feature. Cuz the other 3 horses I own all are fine, it's only the newest one that's got this issue.
