Moonshiner Tips?
I'm a relatively new player and I plan on buying the Moonshiner business. I already have the 3 other roles. Any tips for the business when starting out and any specific location I should buy?

Set up your Moonshine Shack at Tall Trees.

The shack is right beside the fast travel station at Manzanita Post, and just a short horse-ride away from Black Water (in case you need to do some shopping).

I second Tall Trees. There is also a Ginseng plant that grows near that shack as well.

When you deliver Moonshine, drive carefully! Bumps and things will break some of your moonshine lowering the sale value. Also learn where you can drive faster because some of the deliveries routes are kinda long.

You will have to deal with revenue agent checkpoints. You can either take them out before you get there or chance it and let them check your wagon. Sometimes they will let you through but most times they will see the moonshine and attack. Some people run the checkpoints but I would think you incur a fair amount of damage on your shine this way. See what ways work best for your playstyle.

Upgrade the still as soon as you can for stronger, more profitable moonshine.

The bar add on is a lot of fun. You can drink your own shine, invite others, have a band that you can play with if you want, dance and it will allow you to complete some of the dailies associated with the bar.

Actually from my experience 9/10 times revenuer let me pass. Moonshine role is more for the fun of it. Do not expect to get rich.

Getting drunk and playing with the band can be so funny.

I do have a question: I did the all the moonshine missions and it only lowered the price of the mesh from $60 to $50. If I repeated those missions will it lower the price lower? Or is the only way to do the bootleg missions?

Successful bootleg missions lower the mash by $20

15 minute cool down with Maggie on re-doing a bootleg mission.

Random bootleg missions will spawn in the open world which i recommend going right to Maggie and starting another Bootlegger mission after you complete one that ensures you will get the lowest mash price or you can do Moonshiner story+ Bootlegger.

When you have the lowest mash price Maggie will tell you it won't go any lower if you try to do another mission.

*Also If you are following the route to your destination aim your weapon + hold shift and you can shoot enemies and the wagon will auto keep you on the route while you shoot.

If you want the smoothest routes set up your shack in Lemoyne.

Tall Trees is the best because it is well balanced. Heartlands is crap because it has the longest routes. Bar upgrade is fine for those with friends online who want to take a break and have a laugh. You wouldn't know because you have no friends.

Maybe learn to play the game before you give any more bad advice.

After 1350+ hours online trying every location myself and doing a ton of research on different sites, without a doubt tall trees is BY FAR best. you get the shortest runs. If your damaging your moonshine by hitting a small pothole in like great planes, you are either off the road or driving like a lunatic. The wagon can take a little damage and have no effect on the shine. I also found that if you stay at a very slow and steady pace as you approach and drive through the roadblocks that 9 out of 10 times they tell you to hurry up and clear the road. If your not comfortable driving the cart manually yet, you can just draw a gun (aim it away from npcs) and the wagon should follow the road as u hold shift. Just be sure to put the gun away if your trying to pass through a roadblock without a fight. Good luck hope you enjoy it. Shiner really does get decent once u start unlocking the larger still and stuff. :)

That's interesting that other people get to pass the checkpoints most of the time. I wonder if it's because I always get drunk before delivery. They always comment on it saying things like, "Have you been drinking?"
Maybe it makes them more suspicious.
I will have to try approaching really slowly and maybe driving sober.

I see moonshine as the best passive income in the game, more so than trader. In 4 hours you can make over 1k just checking the moonshine and adding flavor to it every 48mins. I don't bother with bootleg missions since I have other things to work on. I'd probably do bootleg missions if the benefit saved after logging off which they don't seem to.

Tall Tree's is best; ADS while driving and you almost never damage the shine.

I set mine in Tall Trees too although I've read the one close to Saint Denis is pretty good too. I have a good tip though. When delivering moonshine aim your weapon. The horses will auto navigate and you're pretty much guaranteed to never break a bottle. Losing 1 bottle out of 20 of strong moonshine costs like 20-25% of the total revenue which makes no damn sense so...yeah...don't break bottles.

Yes I know about the bootleg missions. But you have to do 3 of them to get the lower price. 15 min cool down that is 45min of bootlegger mission. I tested it: I have done all of the Story missions for her. The price is $50. I went to her the 4th time when I heard her tell me I can not get it any lower. Which was $30. Unless it is random like breaking the bottles. I had where I broke one and lost 35% and times where 3 bottles broke and I got 100% of my pay.

If you're new to the role it's probably best to try and level it up so you can unlock better fixtures. Once you can make strong moonshine it's one of the easier moneymakers. I think when you start it's 60 bucks for mash and 50-80 bucks for a perfect delivery so you have to do as many bootlegger missions as you can to drive the mash price down. So it's a ton of work for not much money. So do other things for money and clear the moonshiner missions that pop up for xp. Try and get the bar, band and toxic moonshine upgrades for easy dailies which gives you more xp and some gold. It ends up being alot of money you have to invest before it turns a decent profit, but all that stuff goes on sale pretty regularly. Once you have the strong moonshine you can drop 50 bucks on mash and forget the bootlegger. You get scolded by the french guy but you can turn 150 to 175 in profit every 48 minutes without any extra work. I've only done a couple of the story missions so I don't know if the mash price goes lower or if the profit increases at all. Lemoyne will send you to Saint Denis 80% of the time and riding the wagon through those tight street corners is kind of a drag. I mean wagons, man; set it up wherever you like.

I put mine in the Heartlands. Pretty happy with it. Also like to keep my camp there. Why? Because it's in the centre of the map, so everything is about the same distance away. Only annoying thing can be when you have to drive the long road around stuff and knowing that going offroad ain't an option.
