Is there a Way to avoid PvP in RDR2 Online?
Hello!

Me and a a Friend are wondering if there is a Way in the online-part of the Game to avoid pvp, (like for example getting ganked out of nowhere and such Stuff.). We are not really pvp-player but we would like to play it online together.

Play in defensive mode.

If you do get ganked, use the parley option and get away from your killer while you are both under its effect.

Thanks for the Tipps Guys!
Would you say it happens very often that some random guy comes along and try to kill others?

No, absolutely not. Most people just grind/mind their own business.

For whatever it's worth this keeps happening to my buddy & me... getting assassinated out of nowhere. I'm looking for a way to disable it now in fact. No luck so far. We're on PS4 though, maybe that's a different type of crowd.

I used to play RDO on the PS4, griefing was a lot more common there.

The PC crowd is pretty chill, you rarely get attacked.

PC does have cheaters though, and they can be a huge pain in the neck. :/

These are very untrue statements. I hardly get a moment's peace, even with the white flag raised. I was ordering stuff out of the catalogue and got shot in the head each of two times, then I got shot while negotiating with a merchant, then again when I was entering the stables.

So, PCers are NOT all that uncaring.

its not even a passive mode as you can still get shot, you have to grind enough as it is to get money only for some sad lifer to come along and shoot you, makes online s~~t. rockstar only care about money, not its customers. not everyone is bloodthirsty , i want to experience online play with friends and the online world, not to get shot even when in so called passive mode

Yeah i would wish you could flag yourself total as a pve only player .. and then enjoy the game with friends, without worry about some low lifer´s come and ruin you & your friends day .. alot of games need that solution ..

So if you are a pve player, you can opt out of all pvp and get immune to it .. that option would be great !

I am a pvp player myself, I love pvp, but with so many cheaters and hackers around in our games today, I dont want to pvp in games like this .. i just want to enjoy the pve content !

Indeed. It sounds like we need to make an email bombardment chain to Rockstar. The more emails they get, the more likely they are to work on something. What's it take; like 5 minutes to send an email to their box complaining about it?

Let's get the emails rolling and see if it makes a difference. I know we will get some Negative Nancys on here, calling people names and smack talking our efforts, but that's okay. We can flag and report them, too. lol

Oh, also, please report those who disrupt your game play by needlessly shooting you in passive mode, by reporting them for "Disruptive Behavior" in-game. Press L, click Players, select their name, hit Report, choose Disruptive Behavior. I actually reported someone for cheating yesterday because he was teleporting around the map killing folks.

If you are like us, and you want change to occur for this game, GTA, or any other game, let's start the PVE Movement by sending a quick email to support@rockstargames.com asking them to fix Passive Mode and allowing us to enjoy the game as we are also paying customers. We can even mention that the game is advertised as an "Online Co-Op" game, which is not true as it's forced PVP. False advertisement, perhaps?

I hope this helps; but if it doesn't, at least we can all say we tried. :-)

Good luck to all!

[Edit]
P.S.- I'll even make it easy for everyone. Here's the message I sent from both of my accounts. I stressed a few words to display impact. Feel free to either make your own or copy and paste the message to make it take 5 seconds to send an email. Let's go:

Site: https://support.rockstargames.com/
Selection: RDR2 > Online Play > Gameplay Issue > PC
Then, choose your nickname/club name, followed by a message such as the following:

Hello,

PLEASE fix passive mode. You are falsely advertising the game as Online Co-Op; and it is NOT! You are FORCING PVP, even with Passive mode enabled. There is NO passive mode at all since people still kill you for no apparent reason and you can't enjoy the game!

We paid for the game, too, and should be able to enjoy it!!!!!!!! We want to play with friends and other friendly people, not these disruptive players!

Thank you in advance for caring about your players and those supporting your products! :-D

I agree I've played about 1200 hours online and I've never ran into so many dirt-bags and lowlifes in any game I've ever played.

They might have been true three years ago
