New settings not saving?

Whenever I try to change my control settings, I restart my game as instructed but it never actually saves my changes. It just reverts back to the default settings.
Anyone else have this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

You gotta go in to your settings folder and uncheck the "read only" option. Its in documents/Rockstar Games/Red dead redemption 2/ settings. Right click the system.xml folder and select properties, uncheck "read only" and then apply. Do this with your settings folder as a whole too. Go in to game and change your settings after you've done that. You're likely going to have to do this each time you want to make changes to your settings though, because in my experience it reverts back to read only each time.

In my case only deleting whole settings folder worked. If you do things right, game won't ask you to restart when you changing controls.

nothing works for me. I cant change any settings. If i try to change any the game asks to restart so I hit accept. After it loads back my settings dont save...

I've tried everything I can find online and no matter what I do the graphics settings revert to what it chooses. And it never stays full screen.

Isn't this related to the whole DirextX vs Vulkan thing?

I may be mistaken, but I think I read something about this.
Perhaps someone still has it fresh in their minds.
