Story mode is a single player and you play as Arthur. Lots of horses to ctach and train and sell and free :)
Oh and I'm a woman as well really loved the Story mode anyway.
Also, there's no point in upgrading to the Ultimate edition and you should really play the Story mode since it's the only reason why this game is one of the top rated games ever. In my opinion, it's definitely the best gaming experience ever. Online, on the other hand is alright, it can be fun sometimes, but that's about it.
Yup, but character creation is one of the funnest things to do imo. I don't want to put 100s of hours into another game playing as a preset character.
Maybe it's shallow but it's important to me to be able to play this as a customized female character. Otherwise I'll just stick to Breath of the Wild as Link with my 10 beloved horses in my 2 accts/games. :p
Ya, I've read terrible things about the online version of this game so that's a bummer. I've just uninstalled and requested a refund for the Special (story mode) edition. Guess that's it. :(
Btw, for anyone wondering.. one can't upgrade from Special to Ultimate, and I can't even install another edition of the game in the meantime if I wanted to until Steam refunds and removes the Special edition from their end. Seems removing it from my lib will interfere with the refund request.
I haven't tried any of the trainers for myself but I wouldn't count on it being a cover-all solution. I'm sure by the end of it you would probably agree that it would have been a monumental task to have offered the choice of gender with equal level of polish to what Arthur has already been given.
Edit: Since you said that you already own BotW. Link may be feminine already but did you know that there have already been mods made to exchange Link for playable Zelda or a female equivalent to Link named Linkle? Complete with voice swaps, gender specific dialogue swaps, redesigned costumes, even the ability to walk straight into the Gerudo town without obstruction.
It's perhaps possible that you can inject these mods to console but without giving away anything that might upset this boards terms of use, your console might not be the only way to play your copy.
