can we please have the option to disable PRETENTIOUS graphic settings please?

i hate grass.

grass ruins EVERY game.

unless there is the option to completely disable grass, that redeems the game.


i understand how people find "emmersion" desirable for SINGLE PLAYER experience.
but people who try to "emmerse" themselves in MULTIPLAYER games disgust me....
and developers who accommodate their pretentious desires are ruinning multiplayer games.

i cant wrap my mind around MULTI-PLAYER games requiring "emmersion" ??

i will tolerate trees and the bushes...
i will tolerate ANIMATED trees and bushes...
i will tolrate rendering the shadows...animated shadows.... for both these assets.

but i will ask that the money i spent on this game go into accommodating MY desire NOT TO RENDER GRASS for the sake of MULTIPLAYER QUALITY OF LIFE (MQOL).

this is not a game where players have "stealth attributes" and can become invisible while prone like in Scum where FORCING grass rendering is a fascist decision but somehow makes sense for the game...

when i can load a game into a benchmark program... and wow i can run the entire game (without grass) +90fps

but as soon as grass is introduces.... BAM -25fps

every game.

i expect better from rockstar.
i expect a hefty patch soon, releasing the obligation to render grass... providing the FUNCTIONALITY that i expect in a MULTIPLAYER GAME.




TL-DR: there needs to be the option to reduce render distance.... and there NEEDS the option to completely NOT render grass.

Turn grass shadows to low or medium.

I think that you lack understanding of the graphics settings in RDR2. Also, in videogames in general. Shadows. Shadows are hurting your performance. Not so much the grass.

Also, turn off "Soft Shadows."

Enjoy the performance boost. You won't even notice the difference in visuals. If any, it would be negligible.

grass in multiplayer games is pretentious.

that means people think it's important but it actually isnt.

you can have all the grass you want in single player.

but multiplayer is about frames per second.

i appreciate nice graphics.

especially in this game, it's like an animated painting.

but i appreciate that in single player, and when im trying to pvp i dont care about "emmersion"
