The problem is with the vulkan Renderer.. If you can get into the graphics setting change over to directx. Keep in mind The game boots into vulkan by default.

Not quite.

It happens with DirectX too.

-ignorepipelinecache did not fix the crash for me. Have a 1080 card. They need to beta test their crap.

have u tried to delete the SGA files?

Deleting SGA files DOES NOT WORK. Please stop repeating incorrect information. The issue is something else. Adding the launch option DOES NOT WORK. Why the hell is this even an issue.

Because the people that purchased through EPIC and Rockstar launcher didn't do a good enough job of beta testing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Benchmark the game first before you try loading into story mode on Vulkan, it used to load the story mode without ERR_GFX_STATE on a nvida graphic's card {haven't tried since moonshine update tho} can't hurt to give it a go

I've only had this happen if I leave the game paused for a long time while I'm doing something else. I think it might be something to do with using GPU memory but that's just a guess.

I wish people would set it to directx12 from the start

Clearly something is going on with vulkan which most users are using and getting this.

Because dx12 looks and runs like trash that's why

Because Vulkan is the default and people are told that Vulkan works better, most users see it there.

However the issue is not endemic to Vulkan. It seems to be a problem with Rockstar's pipleline cache data handling. This is not a system nor driver issue.

The above applies both to Vulkan and DirectX.

I've been playing with directx and have yet to run into any problem. I can't look into what I can't replicate.

Keep in mind GTA V had no vulkan option and the best people can do right now is switch to directx or wait for a patch.

DirectX 12 is crashing on my side so I use vulkan.
This error never showed up before some updates.
Now I need to delete SGA files everytime I start the game and I can play for hours without any crash.

If I don't delete the SGA files, the game just crash randomly at some point.
