Two save files for separate stories?

I was wondering does anyone know if the game can allow you to have two separate save files?

So for instance if I start a new game in the story then I save it can another new game be started and saved in another save file. I remember when playing Red Dead Redemption 1 on PS3 there was 3 save slots so you could have 3 separate stories going with the auto save at the top is the second game like this too. The reason I am asking is because my dad wants to play it on my account but I am worried I may lose my progress if I let him start a new game?

There's only one character per story/online as far i 've seen.

you can manually save games in the story section of the pause menu, it might be worth turning of the autosave feature for additional piece of mind and also remember that you must now save your games manually before exiting to desktop...

also ensure you dont overwrtie each others data, there is enough slots to save many different games but you have to remember which is whos file yourself

you also start a new game from the story option in the pause menu...

Sadly you cannot load it appears from the main menu, so say you was playing last, your dad would have to load up your storydata first, then hit esc and select story>load to return to his game world
