Added: But since I love first person view I found a trainer that makes your character invisible. So I can go in 3rd person and have all the detail in the graphics and not have the character blocking the view. It's in the Miscellaneous (Misc) section of this trainer on the Nexus site -
https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/45
It requires you to install a native trainer too and it shows you how, so it's kind of a hassle to install but worth it. In third person without seeing your character the movement is a little awkward so get ready to adjust to that.
in the options menu, under controls, mouse and keyboard, tucked away hidden at the bottom... *inhale*... you will find something ambiguously called "tap assist"
turning this on will default to WALKING speed while in first person.
however.... disables/prevents the use of button to sprint.
i dont want to triple tap.
i dont want to double tap.
i want to hold forward to walk.
i want to hold forward and hold/tap shift to sprint.
i dont want to double/triple tap forward.
TL DR : all i want is to walk... and then i want to press shift to sprint and run.
but i still prefer to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WALK while in first person and will TOLERATE the handicap "tapping"
Yeah I'm with you on that...screw the tapping. Not to mention, I could accidentally double tap a key and fly off a damn mountain or something. On top of that, practically 95% of games use shift as the run/sprint key by default. Well, PC games anyway.
My TL;DR: If shift isn't run, and control isn't crouch...you're probably playing a port.
Edit: Worked it out. Tap and hold control on foot
2. nite69 go bait for attention somewhere else, moron.
? Control crouches for me.... ?
Thank you!! I am willing to deal with the tapping because the "run-by-default" first person goes against every fps ever made and ruins the experience. I should get use to it. Btw idk what "Tap Assist" does but "Tap and Hold Speed Control (On-Foot)" is what you want to turn on to walk by default in first person. "Tap Assist" doesnt seem to affect anything.
Don't you tell me what to do, mom. >:|
