How to reload a checkpoint without dying?

How exactly does one reload a checkpoint during a mission without dying or failing the mission?

Press "L" to bring up your mission menu. Click on the active mission and choose to abandon it. When you do you'll be given the option to load the last mission checkpoint.

and how does this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ work in online. this is nonsense. there is no mission menu there is zero fkn chance of just fkn reloading. all there isa is quit to freero THIS IS THE MOST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INTERFACE ON ANY GAME IVE EVER PLAYED. did none of rockstars idiots ever fkn came to the idea to include a VISIBLE EASY TO ACCESS restart checkpoint. honestly the fact that steath doesnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work properly in this fkn game. i need to fkn reload my damn mission 50 times cause someone sees me for no reason and there is not a single button for this is making me furious
