video memory help

I have a gtx 970, i7 and 16gb of ram but my video memory in the game won’t let me put graphics above low. It also won’t let me go use high resolution, and I’m pretty sure I’m above minimum spec. Is this my problem or the game?

Go to graphics and unlock the directx12 use option,that will give you around 3gb of use in options,or just set the graphic settings on balanced in the options,by default the game is set to Vulkan change it to directx12,but i must warn you the game could get buggy,i have a gtx970 and it's funny because i got terible lags in directx12 setting but smooth gameplay if i use Vulkan in settings but the diference is that using directx gives you around 3gb of options use,Vulkan gives only 2.6Gb,additionaly you can set the screen compresion setting to 0.5 you'l have some image compression like a small blurry image but you'l be able to play at max settings.

currently playng on ultra settings,only shadows on low and shadows decals on medium everyting else on ultra,don't forget to disable the Vsync.

No didn’t help really, it says my video memory can only go to “1627MB” in the graphics menu

did you unlock the option to change from Vulkan to directx12? keep in mind you must keep that setting unlocked and restart the game every time you make changes in graphic options so the settings may change.

I did it increased the video memory only to1700mb

Do you have the 2 GB or 4 GB version of the 970? Also remember that the 4 GB version of the 970 doesn't actually have more than 3.5 GB of usable memory.

Yep my MSI Gold edition videocard only have 3.5Gb and it was advertised as a 4GB videocard,but i still can play the games on decent settings,if you still have 1.7GB in the settings try to change the image compression in the graphic settings there is an option you can change to 0.500x can't remember exactly, this will give you some boost to framerate.

I am facing similar issues except that even after increasing dedicated video memory to 5120 mb on my adapter, it would only allow me to use around 2000 mb and still after all my settings are low it runs on 8 frames a second and experience frequent crashes is there a solution to this problem

lower your graphic settings till you are under your video memory

Playing with a fartknocker card that's under the recommended specs and having a pikachu face when there's a problem.
Minimum specs=game can be started and that's about it. If you want to have higher setting, you better go way above minimum specs.

Hes under minimum, a GTX 1060 6GB is minimum. to meet minimum a user needs to have 6GB VAM and a card that has Relative performance to a GTX 1060 6GB.

you can get this to run with a 2gb card at an obnoxiously low resolution, its very bad though.
