The installed game takes 150GB, that means you need over 250GB to pre-load because Steam needs double the install size.

Don't you have secondary drive? I install all my games on secondary drive and main drive is just 120gb SSD for windows.

had 365 GB free and it started to preload / download for me, 106GB

Thanks I kinda figured it was x2 space required I just moved my 1tb nvme out of my laptop and have been trying to squeeze in the download on the main OS drive that’s 500gb. My unraid gaming station is in parts but I was planning to at least start the download and do a steam backup/restore to my unraid.

No it doesn't. It's 112GB


Future content and updates are expected to put it to 150GB.

No, he's correct. The game's will use 50-100% extra space to allocate files needed for loading.

One hard drive only ? If more a than one , check Steam > Settings > Download - STEAM FOLDERS, it may give more info...

ya my laptop only had one 500gb ssd in it, I got it to 375gb free and gave up because it kept displaying the error that there wasnt enough space. I just ended up mapping a 1TB iscsi lun from my nas, and its downloading now.
