almost 2020 and still data cap? Shame on your filthy ISP
Well, you can winzip it even more. Ever heard about winzip? Just drag the gamefolder into it and enjoy a winzipped game that is only 2-6 gb in size. My brother learned me how to do this. Amazing stuff that you can zipwin stuff with winzip.
150GB for WHAT ?
My HDD its only 250GB.
R.I.P this garbage.
have you heard about winzip? Try it. It is very good to make big files be small files.
No, winzip is best. i have the fullversion with extra zippnes.
Compression works via algorithms.
Some file types work better with different algorithms, while others are not worth even attempting due to the limiting gain. For example, a 2 GB raw video file may compress to 1.9 GB but take ~20 minutes to decompress. Is that worth it for the 'average' user? Probably not.
Then you have things like textures which are often barely compressed (if at all) to prevent game performance tanking while the system tries to load them up.
It's annoying as hell video games are getting to be over 100 GB nowadays, but it's the side effect for higher resolution / higher detail textures and the like.
