dog encounter, how random is this supposed to be?

Just typical.

When it's not on the daily challenge list, I run into these dogs 2 times in a row.
Today, riding around from one spot to the other, no stupid dog encounter.

How random is this?

If it's daily then I think ppl will come to places when it happens and these quest I suppose have cd, so it's harder to see this "event" happening to you.

Found one just west of the bridge at tumbleweed

There are different theories but it probably boils down to the fact that Rockstar has programmed a particular way and the dog event spawn is too close to their limits that it ends up not spawning correctly most of the time.

The encounters are always in the same places. So try to remember where you encounter them.

The problem with trying to do most of these tho is the servers. It seems that when you are in a low pop channel you see hideouts, strangers, and dog pops all the time. But when the channel hits a 15+ pop these things become more scarse if popping at all. When doing these I always try to hop until I hopefully get a lower pop channel. Makes it much easier to find these. Or if you get lucky and land in a solo you will see things everywhere.

Sucks you have to play the loading game simulator to get the spawns you want. -_-
