You CAN Play Without Internet!

There seems to be lots of people who think singleplayer is unplayable without internet but it is in fact 100% playable without any internet connection.
On Multiple ocassions when my internet provider sucked at their job like they often do I was without internet acsess for hours or days and enjoyed singleplayer without problem.
I am not 100% sure what you have to do to make this work but I think you have to make one manual save in singleplayer and not use account on other computer or tweak stuff like overclocking with msi afterburner and rivatuner (i always have both running but I don't think I overclocked ♥♥♥♥. except cpu in bios) or something of sorts cuz it removes some offline mode ticket thingy or something.
Sorry for not spending time to google this I just wanted to spread the fact that you indeed Can play game without internet.
Ofc u prolly have to have it first time u log in and make that manual save or what not. I never overclocked or used it on another pc or done some jimbo jambo magic to make it possible for offline play it just started rockstar launcher in offline mode when I clicked play on steam during time without internet connection and it worked fine.

Wdym? It just starts launcher in offline mode. Idk tbh. Maybe cuz I left auto login on? Altoh that wouldn't make sence since there's no internet connection. I just tried it few moments ago I was 100% witohut internet, whole household. Called croatian telecom support number and they said they turned it off cuz they were doing some maintnance but will be back on in 15 minutes. I trie dplaying rdr2 and i played it just fine. I'm not entierly sure but when I find some time later I'll google it some more and maybe post a reliable answer here.

Game Starts, but Fails Activation Check.

Can't Play.

Now Granted I have not played in a week or more so maybe that was an issue. Not sure how long an activation check is good for.

Are offline and cloud saves the same thing? as in when the game saves does it save both an online and offline profile so if I wanna play single player offline it will keep my save?


Also does your offline save update the cloud save once you're online again?

Playing Story mode is offline in refs to Online Multi player mode.
Story mode generally does not require an internet connection to play.

I prolly checked that then. Dont know if i read it, prolly did but forgot that it said that. I forget what I had for launch yesterdays. Seem tho for some people it's broken tho. Shame devs cant care much apart from money and microtransactions to fix their game.

If u dont have interner atm then obviously it wont save to cloud. It will always save it on ur pc and then when u get internet again u will get cloud sync message showing you on left side ur saves on pc and on right side outdate saves on cloud from when last time u had internet acsess. I get this msg non stop cuz for some reason my cloud saves r stuck on january fifth and dont save anymore.

Yea. Multiplayer is never avaible offline obviously but singleplayer is it appears if u enable autologin. Altho it seems its broken for some people unfortunately.

I always needed a connection to log in from the Epic games store version. Even with downloading the seperate launcher from Rockstar it defers the launcher to epic then epic launches game uses prepackaged Rockstar launcher which doesn't work offline. Will launch game only to say it failed authentication check.. and boots you to desktop. No way I can bypass it either.

I get the social club authentication error somthing message, I currently don't have internet and downloaded it last week at my brother's, it's irritating I can't start a game up and need something to verify I own it.. or even in this case this social club thing, I don't care about the online aspect of it.

Gta I can start it without issues sometimes.

Hey guys, I know this whole thread is about requiring an internet connection to play rdr2 story mode, but story mode generally doesn't require an internet connection to play. I'm not sure if you guys knew that yet. Maybe you guys SHOULD realise that.

And if it doesn't work, it means you haven't disconnected it hard enough.
