Dialogue in game too quiet?
Even with the balance thing in the menu turned up, it seems like the dialogue (and audio in general maybe) is low compared to other games. I just finished GTA V before starting this and didn't have a problem and i had the volume lower for that game.Am I the only one?

Check your sound mixer settings?

Do you mean in game? Sorry I'm not very savvy about audio settings on my pc itself, despite how many problems I've had with it in the past. This is the only game that just seems quiet. Games like Squad and Insurgency and Rocket league pound my ear drums if I play them at the volume I do with RDR

EDIT: It's not that bad with headphones on and the volume cranked way up, but even then sometimes the dialogue is unreasonably quiet if the person talking isn't right next to me. Maybe that's just the design of the game. Not a fan.

I am having the exact same issue. The dialogue in RDR2 is whisper quiet, even with my sound volume at 100% and the audio settings in-game set at max. No issues with any other games. Would love to know a fix, because this makes the games virtually un-playable. Tips?

I'm going to tell you my strange experience with the sound in this game, if I lower the first bar that comes out the effects, the dialogs are heard very low, if I raise the effects to the maximum the voices already improve and are heard well, the problem is that when I shoot I go deaf because the sound is very strong, but I'm used to it, I tell you this because look if it happens to you, try the effects bar to the maximum and listen to the dialogs, at least this way it is solved for me, I would like to lower the effects sound but if I do it I lose dialogs

Check your computers volume mixer. Since the last update I've had to raise red deads volume. For some reason it sets it to the minimum when I launch.

personally aware of that problem, still too low.

Right click in the 'speakers' icon (bottom right hand side of desktop), select "Open Volume Mixer", scroll across to find RDR2, raise the volume. You will have to do this every time you load RDR2, because it will set the volume back to 8% again.
