I just saw some random youtube video about RDO, and the guy told me to reset my awards.

Tried it just now, and you get so much "free" gold.
0.4 gold per reset.
You can reset all awards that have a counter and a buckle award (sniper rifle kills, $ spent in a store, etc.). Kind of like the prestige level in CoD.

If you reset them, you can do them all over again, and then reset them again, for more gold.

I'm curious about how many people here actually knew about this..

They can only get reset 10 times. Its nice passive income for new players. If you have cash to spare but are desperate for gold; you can buy herbs from Madam Nazar and sell them to a doctor. This does two awards at once. Also you can buy a provision from the handheld catalog (sorry I cant remember what it was, its been months since I did this) making sure to collect it from your camp's lockbox (collect x amount of items from your lockbox is an award) and then sell it to the butcher (selling to the butcher is another award). So that is three of them right there.

Another good one is get a wanted level in St. Denis, then hide in one of those empty train cars. They cops will one by one climb up the ladder and jump in, which you can then immediate perform an execute. Spending time wanted is an award, as well as killing enemies. I cant remember for sure but there might be one for performing executions too.

Unless they changed it with the last update, each award can either be reset 10 times for 0.4 gold bars each time, or it can't ever be reset. It's been completely consistent about that since the game was released on Steam.

knew it since start cuz i like to google tips as long as there isnt spoilers, you can reset each 10 times but not all can be reset and some take ages to achive whilst some aren't too bad

Seems working for a living is no longer the pursuit it used to be. Purchasing herbs you can get for nothing by riding around and getting off of the horse to pick them! Airship scientists, gotta love 'em.

Sometimes, they do glitch out, but you can tell the difference between an award that has been reset the max number of times and one that has glitched out, because the ones that have been reset the max number of times don't have the reset button anymore (so, they're then just like the ones that can never be reset), whereas the ones that glitch out just have the reset button greyed out as if you hadn't reached the point when you can reset it again even though you have. I had several awards glitch out on me and then later work properly again. So, if you've had some glitch out, they may fix themselves eventually, or you may want to contact support to see if they can fix it. I did report my glitched out rewards as a bug, but AFAIK, support didn't do anything other than report it to the devs as a bug, so I _think_ that the glitch stopped affecting those awards for some reason rather than support doing something to my account, but I don't know.

Do you get anything else out of it like "better" belt buckles or is it just for the gold?

It's definitely worth looking into those, because there are awards you wouldn't think existed.
Like people run over with a coach and stuff like that.
