Cant setup camp there is activity nearby
This is what i see when i try to setup camp in single player on most of the map. Funny coz after a mission cutscene the game loaded with Arthur camping, i tore down the camp, took one step and tried camping again and i got the message cannot camp here there is activity nearby lol

One of several little stupid annoyances in this game that they could fix in 5 seconds but choose not to. The workaround is to either shoot your gun up in the air a few times, or hold L1/LB, go to items, and select camp from the menu. This will automatically move him away from "activity."

Tore down, took one step and tried to place??

Camps are complicated due to all the stuff you can do within them.

You should give it a few for the internal processes to catch up.

Because it's a sluggish console port, I am REAAALLY tired of these samll inconviniences, it detracts from the enjoyment of the game so brutally much that I end up dreaming of things I would do the developers responsible for these little annoyances. The whole game is only half-done, and it really shows on the shallow, cartoony story from Chapter 4 onwards, especially Chapter 5 which is just hollow and devoid of any inspiration. Some parts of Chapter 6 does try to make it right story-wise, and it does sometimes, there are some nice moments, but overall, it's more of an insult to an already long list of silly things this game suffers from. To me RDR2 is like a nonexistent son I really loved and he had so much potential but just chooses to be shallow and only does things halfway... Rant over.
