Anybody else have this issue?
Possibe minor spoiler ahead?

I've already put in a ticket with Rockstar, but while I'm waiting on a response I'd like to see if there's anything else I can do or if any of you have the same problem. I can't find anything about my specific issue anywhere. The only issue I find is infinite loading screen on startup or on online but that's not my problem, my game starts up fine.

My issue is that I get an infinite loading screen towards the end of the mission after boarding the ship in: Banking, The Old American Art (The St. Denis bank heist). After the cut scenes toward the end of the mission, I get a black loading screen with a revolver in the corner turning. I've been sitting here for over an hour and it still has not loaded. I've never had a loading problem with this game and it always loads for me in 1-3 minutes, usually less. I have actually never had a problem with this game until now. This is game breaking as I cannot continue the main storyline!

My antivirus is off, my drivers are up to date as well as my windows. I have tried both restarting the game, as well as my PC. I've verified game files multiple times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled RDR2, which I don't want to do again due to how large the game is and how long it takes for me to install. I've also replayed the mission multiple times and I'm getting the same result: infinite black loading screen with revolver in corner turning. I have literally been sitting on this screen for almost 2 hours. Nothing I tried has worked for me.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Have any of you had this same problem?

Have you tried switching apis?

Also try this just to get past your hiccup point, let Nvidia GeForce or amd launchers optimize settings and start game using the launcher

I'm sorry, I have no clue what an API is or how to switch it.

I always run on Nvidia's recomended settings and start through the launcher, it hasn't worked so far.

Do you think it is more than likely my computer (I have doubts it's my computer because I've never had a problem with this game before, the game runs smoothly) or the game itself?

I think I might just have to wait for Rockstar to update the game.

Naw you got this far..

Look in your in-game graphic settings. You'll see Vulkan or DX12,. Try one or the other

I will not load infinitely :steamfacepalm:

I will disconnect directly :steamsad:

Thank you for telling me where to find it!

I switched, played the mission again and got the same infinite loading screen. I went and switched back to the other one and got the same results. Hopefully Rockstar responds soon!

do you got a save right before that quest? That save may have gotten corrupt.

Yes, the save is right before the quest. It is the only save I have though. When the infinite loading screen comes on, I have to manually exit out of the game with my task manager. When I go back into singleplayer it spawns me in my camp in Shady Belle before I even accepted the mission. I have to go talk to Dutch to accept it, once I do the entire mission runs fine until after the cut scenes towards the end of it. I should make a new save and start the game over?

Hey I have the same issue and I know I'm 3 years late, but did you figure anything out?

I was able to get past this point. Had to verify game files via steam. One file was corrupt. Seems to work after that
