I bought a fishing rod but cant use it?

Bought it way back, now when i want to use it,
it is grey-ed out and letters show:
Cant use it here...? What is going on with that?

yes different sorts...they all show in the sachet or whatever stash it is named.

Thanks for advice but i just cant find my fishing rod no where in anywhere...
I see it in the pie-menu but it is greyed out,so in no way i can use it,
says:/shows.

your absolute sure you bought the fishing pole, when you go look now it should state OWNED on the picture, if so did you buy it from the book in the wild (j) again if so, did you take it out of the mail box. just to be clear and not to make fun of you, just a step by step kind of thing.

i assume you see the pole in the item wheel? and when standing next to a body of water where you can fish. and you still can't take it out, you probably are bugged and you need R* to assist you. in that case i wish you the best of luck. (R* support is fairly useless)

Wow the responses to your problem are really stupid. I mean these people are DUMB. Yes he bought it, and bait has nothing to do with it. You have an endless supply of cheese, and corn, you Don't need to buy any bait. Any moron would know this. It's a bug in the game. If you bought it that means you have Red Dead Offline, that is outdated and doesn't really work anymore. Probably your problem. Sadly any save that was ever running that mod and you bought the rod before doing the fishing quest with Jack will be bugged forever. Your only option is to start a new game and make sure RDO is removed from your mod list.
