Machete or Knife?
I love playing with Machetes in games and it says it has 5 more dmg then knife (55 instead of 50). So I was thinking of getting it after I get enough gold to buy pass and moonshine first but am curious if it's too slow for a melee weapon. If knife is superior then I'll rather just hold onto those 6 gold bars for new roles.

I don't know how they really compare in combat. In general, I don't think that melee is all that great unless you stealth kill someone, though there are folks who use ability cards to create melee builds. You might be able to find some youtube videos which talk about melee combat which give you the info that you're looking for.

Regardless, it's just the Águila Machete from Madam Nazar which costs 6 gold. The normal machete can be bought from a fence for $40 (or 2 gold if you'd prefer, but it doesn't require gold). And the difference between the two machetes is just cosmetic. So, if you want a machete, and you don't want to spend gold, then buy the one that the fences sell.
