Rockstar Games Launcher Worst Support Ever
For your safety I suggest you do not buy the game on the Rockstar Games Launcher.

I don't care about the devs price cut or new Launcher related issue, all I care about is my account security and Rockstar Support have definitely a lack of it.

I wanted to check the price of RDR2 on the RGL and I couldn't get in my account after years of inactivity, my password was not accepted so I requested a reset and after waiting about an hour I realized I got a email from Rockstar in russian in the SPAM folder.

My Social Club Account was hacked from Russia and Rockstar never sent me any email about suspicious activity, this was supposedly years ago.

Luckily I didn't have any game directly on RGL (all linked via Steam) and I didn't save any payment information so I suppose all they could do was change the social club language to russian and steal all my profile information like gamertag, dob, email and linked accounts.

So after changing the password I activated a 2-step Auth and write and email to Rockstar privacy Support to explain my situation and ask for information like the timeframe that my account was used by russian. Funny thing is once I changed my password and activated the Auth rockstar did send me plenty of emails about Sign-In Detected from Unrecognized Device.

With my surprise I got a response from an inept who didn't even read my support message and just copied pasted a template reply.
This was the response:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

We would be glad to help reset the Authenticator for you, but before we proceed, we seek your help to gather the following pieces of information for verification purpose:

Platform name (PSNID / Gamertag / Steam ID)
Date of Birth associated with the Social Club account

Note: The reply to this message would need to be via the email which was used to create the Social Club account, and not by logging into the Support site and updating this ticket, for us to verify the ownership of the account.
Once we have all the required information, we can go ahead and help you reset the 2-Step Verification of your account.

Are you kidding me? You just ask for information that the hackers have since they already accessed my account? I didn't even remotely requested a reset of my 2-step Auth!
Thank god they didn't change my account email or I would have lost the account.

A support that don't even spend the time to read what you write to them is the worst kind of support you can ever receive.

I hope this warning/experience is useful to anyone.

I bought it. I'm fine, you telling me not to means nothing.

I have the same issue with uplay, twitch and the rockstar launcher.
The password is all 2-3 months hacked. It doesn't matter how save the password is.
They have a miserable security.. and the support doesn't care about that.
From twitch support I got a standard ansfer after 2! months that the problem is hopefully solved :)
Never do the same password from the email account, then it should nothing happen.

I had this problem with UPlay one time, some years ago. I just called the Ubisoft hotline and got a very nice guy who was eager to help me. I got my account back within a few minutes. Can't complain there (except the part where the account was stolen in the first place).

What is really idiotic is asking for information that is on plain sight to hackers once they compromise your account and get in, like your gamertag, date of birth, hell they even get to know your confirmed email and any account you linked. At least make those information hidden instead! So that you can actually confirm it's really you since only you can know them? This is really the worst support ever! I didn't even got a reply in 3 days from their lame "Support"

Interesting how different our experiences were. The guy on the phone actually asked me for an activation key that I used to activate a game on my account. Which is something a hacker cannot know. He even said I should provide an old one, not a newer one, to prevent checking a key that the hacker might have activated himself.

The key I provided was from the Steam version of an Anno game. As you probably know, you can see the CD keys used for many Ubisoft games directly on Steam. Not sure how this would have worked if I didn't have a key.

So you are telling on the steam forum of a game not not buy it on another platform ?

Kinda same here with UPlay, got hacked, restored my password easily, but I noticed that my nickname was changed and I couldn't change it back, must wait 30 days. Wrote to ubisoft support that I was hacked and want to change to my old nickname, got fairly quick response and changed nickname in minutes.

I have the same issue with Epic Games, Uplay and Rockstar games and origin.

Uplay is the worst.
Why?
Example: I could have your password and you have 2FA enabled, I’m able to log into the website of Uplay on your account without being asked for 2FA, however if I select Manage Account, it will redirect me to login again and ask for 2FA
