Can't complete Master Hunter Challenge 3? Bug?

For some reason I can't get the third Master Hunter Challenge to register the animals that I am tracking. The challenge says "Track 10 different animal species using your binoculars."

Each time I either study the animal first, scope in with binoculars, then hit track, but the challenge does not update. I am stuck at 2 out of 10 animals. Is there a specific way I should be doing this or is the challenge bugged?

Maybe it only works with animals you've already studied? I had no problems doing it, but I already had many animals studied when I did it.

it has to be 10 different kind of animal. say you already done it with whitetail deer, you have to find another animal, you cant track another deer. the challenge wont progress.

TIP: Buck and Deer count as different animal despite its the same species.

Do what Winchester says. Track birds, deer, buck, boar, alligator, etc.

Should take no time.

Ive been doing this but it still wont work. only thing that counted was the deer but the gators rabbits squirrels even the bison arent counting

same happen to me, I only got two counted in diverse animal that I've tracked!!!

I had that happen recently:
I had the game clock paused.
Unpaused it and completed the challenge in about a minute...

;)

If the problem persists - save - quit - reboot everything in the house.
Give it another try.

Might also try the old 'verify game files' - just in case.

wow with 2,256.6 hours in the game, I still have yet to finish the epilogue! IF you are waiting for an update notification, you won't get it after the first one until the challenge is completed (you probably know this , but thought I point it out anyway) you have to check the progress/challenges/Masterhunter menus to see your progress.

Also an easy way to check the progress is to press L (on pc) and switch to the "challenges" tab
