Can't get fullscreen on Vulkan
Hey there,
My problem with the game is that when I'm on Vulkan, I can only play the game by manually putting the screen window value to 1 which means 'windowed mode'. If I switch to full screen, Half of my monitor shows the desktop and half of it shows the game and makes the game absolutely unplayable, cause I can't see for example, the main menu options. How can I fix this?

I don't personally have this problem with Vulkan, but if I were you, I would try holding down the Alt key while hitting the enter key to see if will take you into full screen.

Or check your resolution

why play fullscreen? What's wrong with bordlerless window? I use borderless and notice zero difference in performance, but better stability and i can alt+tab out w/out killing the game.

WTF?! Did it just took all of your screen?!?! :/
Did you tried other resolutions too from your graphic control panel?
Something that fit the game to your screen, my laptop is 4k but it fixed by change resolution to 1080 .

Yes I tried them all. I don't know why the game launches from lower right corner of the screen instead of full screen.

when you change your resolutions to default the game will back to your Previous status or it still launches from lower right corner of the screen ?
you did it from intel control panel , did you use NVIDIA control panel too for changing resolutions ?
of course it's the bug of the game but with some setting tricks maybe we could pass the bug . if the steps did't work i recommend you to send a ticket to Rockstar support and explain the Condition .

you can try adding -fullscreen to launch parameters. That might work. again though, why not play borderless windowed? And submitting a ticket to rockstar is going to get you a string of responses where they ask you to update drivers, restart, and do a bunch of stuff you've probably already done.

Another option is run in DX12. This game runs better in it anyway.

No matter what I do. The game always launches from lower right corner. It fixes on DX12. It is playable on Windowed mode, but being 'windowed' is one of the reasons I get ERR-GFX. I can't play on DX12 because it freezes as shi% and I have to restart my laptop.

you will get err-gfx windowed or not, i doubt it has anything to do with it. I played through all of single player in full screen and got the same crashes.

i played windowed now and do not notice a performance difference in fact i think the game is actually more stable in windowed mode.

Borderless windowed starts from lower part of the screen as well. The window can't be moved.

I've played 91 hours. I'm really disappointed. I have spent nearly 10 hours of my run on trying different methods and launching the game again and again. It really sukcs.

dude, vulkan sucks ass in this game, switch to dx12 and be done with it. Also, the game is better windowed, it just is.

for so many players directx 12 causes crash and freezing . in overall directx 12 gives more frame rate than vulkan but it still needs more update and fix to work well with the game
